How we reimagined Hammo
Launched in 2018, Hammo became a go-to travel tee for thousands. If you’re new here, here’s the backstory.
This year, we revisited it with fresh eyes—redesigning it as we would today. It took months of tweaking, and just as long to sit with the edits. Because we weren’t just updating a tee, we were reworking something that’s become truly iconic.
The Yoke
Traditional tees have seams running across the shoulders and down the back. Every time you lift your arms, the fabric pulls against those seams. We removed them.
The 2025 Hammo has a single continuous yoke across the upper back. Multiple panels, stitched to form one uninterrupted piece. Your arms move. The fabric follows.
The Fabric
Two layers. Two different cotton counts. The front is denser. Holds the shape. The back is lighter. Sits against your skin. The new yoke design needed a counterweight. Two fabrics solved it. Structure and comfort in a single tee.
The Cut
Relaxed body. Elbow-length sleeve. We dropped the ribbed hem cuff. Cleaner line. Less bulk. Everything that needed to stay, stayed. Everything else, gone.
How it came together~
We also made a special fabric this year (we love making our own). A 600-gram brushed fleece. 600 grams is heavy! Too heavy for standard dyeing. So we jet dye it. Forces the colour deep into a fabric this dense. Pure cotton. Custom knit. Brushed on the inside. Soft without the polyester.
